Undergraduate thesis
A parallel algorithm for Polygonal voids on Delaunay triangulations
Hervías et. al presented in 2014 a sequential O(n·log(n)) algorithm for finding polygonal voids in n-point Delaunay triangulations. In the undergraduate thesis, key mathematical properties of the voids were discovered. The breakthrough led to three lower-complexity new algorithms that solve the same problem: a sequential O(n), another semi-parallel O(n) and a fully-parallel PRAM O(log²(n)).
